I'm Gonna Vote For Optimus Prime

flash preloaders
If you do a search for Flash preloaders, you'll find a dizzying array of articles about various methods for constructing your own "simple" preloader. Simple my ass. I tried 3 completely differnet methods for constructing a decent preloader. I also tried raping some old preloader code of mine from my previous employer. Then I found a nice little site that sells premade flash bits. I generally balk at the idea of spending money like that, but I wasted more time trying to figure it out myself. Metaphor: sure I can mow my own lawn, but I'd rather pay some else to do it. Also, sometimes the internet sucks for good information. (In the case of Wikipedia, that "sometimes" becomes "always".)

prime
37.1 seconds into Paul's flash video and I'm nearly at my limit for workable pictures of Optimus Prime. Every 5 seconds of this thing is taking an hour. It ridiculous. No wonder those guys at JibJab have a whole team of animators.

Also, it occurred to me today that every day should be spent in search of something to create or do that will secure your place in history and legend, be it through fame or power or wealth or heroic (or infamous) deeds, at least for those around you, or you will never be remembered for anything and forgotten soon after you die. You will leave no mark on the universe and only maggots and unresolved debt will mark your passing. Today I worked on a flash video. Tomorrow I will finish this flash video and work more on our company website(s). Sunday is still up in the air, so we'll see what comes across my desk.
