trek weirdness and good tidings

I just posted many pictures from the trek con on uglycouchshow.com. I didn't actually go into the con, but I did hang out at Quark's with many old friends. I actually went to see the alien panel, which I was at first skeptical about, but it was well worth the time. It's about time the aliens got a little spotlight time. We were the only good thing about that place for a long time. And I'm glad I got to meet some of the fans i've seen over the years while in costume, and of course some of the aliens I never got to play with.

My office is WAY too comfortable. I actually enjoy going to work. I'm more comfortable there than I am at home. When I get some more money I might consider putting an xbox 360 in there. Then I will never leave.

It's even more comfortable with an absurdly pretty girl on my couch who likes all the geek crap I do. It's pretty awesome how this whole situation is unfolding. I'm really over the moon ab- you know, it just occurred to me that people actually read this nonsense. I mean, I know it's a public blog, but it's easy to forget it's out there for all to see. Hmph. I'll just clam up because I don't want to be all creepy and jinx a good thing.

By the way, this is your reminder: September 19th is talk like a pirate day, or for some, dress like a pirate and get shitty day. You have been warned.

new office

Not really new, but it's new to me, since I just recently moved in.

A new office is like a new apartment. You've got to move all your shit in and get it just right, and it's a process if you're like me, where you can't work comfortably if anything is screwed up. I've got my 24" widescreen monitor, my 47" widescreen TV as a monitor (in 1920x1200 4 feet from me), and my sick ass video editing machine. Also, my whiskey in a decanter (old school is me) and glasses. The furniture is all cherry wood. I've very happy here. I only wish I had a hookah.

Diggnation sucks. Really. I don't know why this is a popular vodcast. Ugly couch show is much better. Diggnation goes on for far too long and I've truly uninterested in half of what they say. Also, one of those guys sports a Mac, has a moptop and is generally one of those types of people I loathe.

i need a bigger office

Running three differnet machines, 3 big ass monitors, 3 keyboards, 3 mice, and a load of random doodads on one old busted desk. I need a new desk. I also need longer power cords. Most importantly, I need a hex wrench for this foosball table that I, like an idiot, assembled in a room with a door too narrow to get it out of without disassembling it. Maybe I can just take the legs off. Then I can fit another cheap desk in here.

The Andromeda Strain was a 2 part movie event thing on A&E. I was underwhelmed. I want my 4 hours back.
